Last Chemo Haiku

Toxic poison drips.
Killing the last cancer cells.
Life begins anew.

Soon, aches will be gone.
Life and energy will bloom.
Cancer defeated.

Hope blood is stable
so can have my last treatment.
I think that I'm done.

Herceptin goes on.
Needle sticks through the seasons
But the side effects are mild.

Today is the day
Chemotherapy finished.
The heart rejoices.

  1. Hey - congrats on the last chemo! I saw a vid on youtube where a patient in the States got to ring a bell as she left the treatment room following her last chemo - guess that was a way to celebrate!! P x

  2. They give out certificates in my oncology office. But, I still have a year of herceptin to go so I don't think I'll get mine yet. :)
